I Corinthians 13 literal translation

  1. If with the tongues of men I speak,
    and of angels,
    Love I do not have,
I have become a gong resounding or cymbal clanging.

  2. And if I have the gift of prophecy,
    and know mysteries all,
    and all knowledge,
and even if I have all faith that mountains move,
Love I do not have, nothing I am.

  3. And even if I shared all food I have,
and even if I surrender the body so I may be burned
Love I do not have, no one I bring advantage.

  4. Love is generous, virtuous,
    Love does not envy,
Love does not boast, not proud is.

  5. Not rude, not seeking itself,
not become embittered, not keeps records of wrongs.

  6. Not she delights in evil, she delights in truth

  7. All she protects, all she trusts, all she hopes, all she perseveres.

  8. Love never she fails. Be it prophecies, they will cease,
Be it tongues, they will be stilled, be it knowledge it will cease.

  9. Only imperfectly we know and imperfectly we prophesy

  10. When comes perfection, the imperfect will cease.

  11. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I have laid down the things of a child.

  12. We see now through a mirror in riddles, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in
part, then I shall know fully, and be known fully.

  13. So remain, Faith, Hope and Love, these three. But the greatest of these is Love.
